About Me

I am one more resident of Fuengirola, although I was born in Larache. When I was just six years old, I moved here with my parents and siblings, to the city that has become my home, where I grew up and built my life.

Although I devote much of my day to working for Fuengirola, in my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife, family and friends. Sport has always been one of my passions, as have music and walking around Fuengirola, along our seafront promenade, beaches and parks.

I studied at Picasso and Andalucía schools. I later continued my education at Secondary School No. 1, the only one in Fuengirola at the time.

After graduating in Law from the University of Málaga in 1988, I sat the competitive examinations to join Fuengirola Town Council and began working for the local administration, which has played a key role throughout my professional career.

I worked in numerous municipal departments, including Internal Audit, Public Roads and Spaces, Revenue Collection, Treasury and the Marina. This experience gave me an in-depth understanding, from within and at different levels of responsibility, of how the Town Council operates.

From 1995 onwards, I served continuously as First Deputy Mayor.

I combined this responsibility with overseeing key municipal departments such as Urban Planning, Public Works and Infrastructure, Public Roads and Spaces, Finance, Human Resources and Beaches, as well as serving as Managing Director of the Municipal Companies.

As you know, I am the Mayor of Fuengirola, representing each and every resident of our city. Within my political organisation, I also serve as President of the Partido Popular in Fuengirola, a member of the Provincial Executive Committee, Secretary for Municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants within the Municipal Policy Department of the Partido Popular of Andalusia, and a member of the National Board of Directors of the Partido Popular.

It is an honour to dedicate my life to working for my city and its residents.

Many years of collective effort have enabled us to achieve the high standards of quality of life that we enjoy today.

We have achieved this together: the people of Fuengirola and the municipal government. Together, we have consolidated the Fuengirola Brand, creating the strong and attractive image that our city projects beyond its borders.

Over the past four years, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we have continued to strengthen this hallmark of quality. However, there is still much to be done.

My commitment is to continue working to earn your trust and support once again, so that together we can continue moving forward with the transformation towards a New Fuengirola.
